Is the worlds most powerful navy really being held at bay by four pirates in a row boat? Can our sharp shooters really not take out four gunmen who don’t have cover? Or is there more to this story that we don’t yet know?
Captain Phillips was amazinly brave to put himself in harms way to spare his crew. Are we, as a nation, letting this brave man down with our inaction?
Ofcourse not, the administration is “watching the situation closly”, said Robert Gibbs, Whitehouse Press Secretary. FBI hostage negotiators have been dispatched to the scene to engage in negotiations.
Have we reached the point where we can start counting the days like we did with the Iran Hostage crisis? On November 4, 1979 our newly elected President encouraged the release of hostages after 444 days of captivity. Was it the fear of additional talk or the likelihood of military action that moved the stalemate? More importantly, is the threat of more talks going to help Captian Phillips?
Please Mr. President, send a message to these pirates that America will not tollerate this behavior. Sometimes the bullet speaks louder than a voice.
Bring home Captian Richard Phillips.

Hey Roland, I believe you were around during the Iran Hostage crisis, did you feel frustrated? I did. I felt like a group of rag tag hostage takers held our country hostage because our President feared collateral damage. Time and time again, Americans have proven we prefer to go down fighting (Flight 99) rather than being help at bay with idol threats.
Credit where credit is due. It is reported that President Obama ordered the operation. Bravo. Let not our nation be held hostage to those who feel we are weak.
